New York mayor charged with bribery, wire fraud in sweeping corruption indictment

Federal prosecutors charged New York Mayor Eric Adams with bribery, wire fraud and other charges in a sweeping indictment that accused him of improperly soliciting and accepting free or heavily discounted airline tickets and hotel accommodations and illegal campaign contributions. Adams insisted he is innocent, said he will remain in office and asked New Yorkers “to wait to hear our defense.” NBC News’ Laura Jarrett reports.
