Florida police arrest four in deadly drug deal, sheriff says, ‘You play with fire, you’re going to get burned’

Four individuals from Pinellas County, Florida, have been charged with first-degree murder following a deadly drug deal in April.

The Pinellas County Sheriff, Bob Gualtieri, reported that deputies responded to a shooting incident at the All-American Business Center on Ulmerton Road on April 29.

Upon arrival, they discovered Brent Alley, 20, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Alley was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

After a lengthy 17-year investigation spanning across Los Angeles, California, Las Vegas, Nevada, and northern Virginia, Tyaire Turner, Scott Laracuente, Terrell Jackson, and Joshua Ashley, all residents of Pinellas County, were apprehended.

The grand jury in Pinellas County indicted all four men on first-degree murder charges.

The sheriff characterized the case as intricate, revealing that Alley had rented a Porsche in Jacksonville to buy $40,000 worth of marijuana from Ashley in Largo.

Allegedly, Ashley was Alley’s marijuana supplier, and a plan was hatched by Ashley, Jackson, Laracuente, and Turner to rob Alley of the money instead of providing him with the drugs.

Jackson and Ashley retrieved a handgun from Ashley’s residence before meeting Laracuente at the commercial business center where the deal was supposed to take place.

Turner was stationed in the stairwell with a firearm as Alley and Kyle Foster arrived at the location. Alley, suspicious of the situation, left the money in his car and returned with his own gun.

After a brief interaction, Jackson and Ashley left to get food and returned to find Turner shooting Alley, leading to his death.

Following the incident, the perpetrators fled the scene, with Turner going to St. Pete, and Jackson and Laracuente heading to Sarasota before parting ways.

Jackson and Ashley eventually made their way to Los Angeles and Las Vegas, where they were apprehended, while Turner was located in northern Virginia.

All four men are currently in custody at the Pinellas County Jail.

Gualtieri emphasized that drug dealing has consequences, highlighting Alley’s tragic demise as a result of his involvement in illegal activities.

Notably, Foster has not faced any charges in connection to the incident.
