A significant police operation in Maryland resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals, including a prominent figure in the drug trade, following an extensive investigation that led to the confiscation of $2 million worth of cocaine. This seizure marked the largest cocaine bust in the history of the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown disclosed the details of the operation, revealing that drug traffickers had been active in the areas of Severn and Glen Burnie. The suspects are facing a total of 22 charges, including conspiracy to distribute drugs, possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, and firearms offenses.

Aside from the substantial amount of cocaine weighing over 18 kilograms, law enforcement agencies such as the Anne Arundel County Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Attorney General’s Organized Crime Unit also seized nearly two dozen firearms and various other illicit substances like heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and MDMA.

“Our primary goal is to disrupt the illegal trafficking of drugs and firearms that pose a threat to the safety of our communities,” stated Brown. “I have pledged to the people of Maryland that my office will collaborate with local law enforcement to enhance public safety.
